Yes, media built Hillary up then tore her down. She took nothing for granted and worked hard. She never called herself inevitable the press did. They create and like contrast, the more the merrier. Win or lose I admire her campaign and organization she put forth. She's really showing the world how superficial America really is and after this, if she loses more of : what the next woman would have to overcome: female inuendos and jokes about dress, hair, voice town (mommy issues, so to speak with many male commentators).
I admire the courage and strength she's shown and how articulate she is. How many of us in our lifetime have seen a woman (unless in show business) speaking to 1000s.
She's paving the way, like no other woman I've seen running, yet. The first real contender. It took 144 yrs. for women to get the vote here; and not until the late 50s early 60s, easier, more equal for women to go to college; it was never promoted or expected of them, unless "rich."
Slowly, educated women since the 60s have become mayors, governors, senators, house reps etc....lawyers, doctors, scientists, all professions. High School wasn't even required for all, mandatory, to age 16 until the 1930s. 16 is still the mandatory age - then one can drop out.
Win or lose she is making history. Cable TV has been especially cruel/nitpickey. Maybe it'll take another generation. Other modern countries seem far more advanced.
She's a Boomer and so is Barak, and Edwards (all age late 40s to early 60s) few year differences between all. They could be bros and sisses.
To Repubs Gore, a boomer was TOO smart, like Bill, so he had to go, so we went with another Boomer GW; Kerry another Boomer was too Elitist Smart, so he had to go. Start the slime machines.
The Barak "wave" going on is mystifies the press, so they now go with him.
Who are the Boomers on the Repub side? Romney and Huckabee. What a choice?
78 million boomers and their kids and grandkids will be voting. It's a generational thing. IMHO
Boomer parents are very, very old: aging in nursing homes, or dead. WW2 is now over in this this election, not a huge block of voters anymore. No more Reagan Democrats left to tap into. Do we now go back to the divisions of Vietnam, Racism, Gender, God issues, or move forward?
Just wondering.
